Overlooking 1 of the waterfalls on the estate, The Irish Rock Guesthouse is a spacious house for up to 8 people in the Highland Gate Golf and Trout Estate.
The house consists of 4 bedrooms, and a separate outside room. The 4 rooms are each furnished with 2 single beds, which can be converted into a king-size bed, and overlooks the surrounds. The separate room is ideal for an au pair and 3 children and is furnished with 2 bunk beds. For convenience, bedding and towels are provided.
The open-plan kitchen is equipped with a fridge, a microwave, a stove and oven, as well as tea-and-coffee making facilities, and meals can be enjoyed in the dining area which has a built-in fireplace. Guests can relax in the lounge which is equipped with a TV and a fireplace. The house also has a wine cellar with a cozy fireplace. Three packets of wood are provided, and guests are recommended to bring their own additional wood.
Secure parking is provided, and the house is serviced daily. Please note, sections of the unit are accessed via stairs, and may not be suitable for young children, the elderly, or guests with disabilities. Unfortunately, pets are not allowed.
Guests can enjoy breakfast and lunch at the restaurant on the estate, except on Mondays, and dinner on Friday and Saturday evenings. Activities on the estate consist of tennis, fishing, golfing, hiking, birding, and mountain biking.

Supply: coffee / tea (Rooibos & Five Roses) / Sugar / Sweetener / Cremora.
FISHING:
We have three dams to fish on the estate. Two of them are on the course and one of them are down at the picnic area.
The dams on the course you can only fish early mornings before the golfers are on the field and late afternoon when the golfers are already off the course. The large dam at the picnic area is open for fishing any time of the day.
We only stock Rainbow Trout and most of them are between 1-2 kg. It is all wild trout, which means that they are not fed by us in any way and only prey on insects and other small species of fish. We normally stock about 80-100 fish at a time depending on the size.
Please take note that it is Catch and Release and Fly Fishing only. If the fish is caught and injured, it may be kept and paid for at the Pro Shop at R100 per Kg. All fisherman to check in at the Pro Shop before fishing to purchase their permit and receive all the dam rules.
