The Highlander

General Information
The Highlander Hotel is situated in the little town of Dullstroom, in South Africa's famous Mpumalanga province. The Highlander was named after the Scottish Highlands, which the area around the hotel resembles. The hotel, which was formerly known as the Peebles Country Lodge, was voted the 'Most Romantic Hotel' during the International Luxury Hotel of the year awards. The retreat has become popular as a stopover accommodation option for visitors traveling to and from the Kruger National Park. This welcoming country retreat in Mpumalanga caters to both the corporate and leisure guest.
This Dullstroom hotel offers guests well-deserved tranquillity and luxury. Accommodation
The hotel offers three different room types, namely the Luxury Suites, The Highlander Suite and the Hobbit Cottage. The rooms provide either garden or pool views. The Suites and Hobbit Cottage offer the perfect accommodation for families as each room has its own patio to secure guests' privacy.

Luxury Suite
The Luxury Suites can accommodate up to two guests. These beautifully appointed rooms offer guests the use of their own wood burning log fireplace and private enclosed patios where guests can relax and take in their surroundings.

Highlander Room
The Highlander Rooms can accommodate up to four guests. The Duplex bungalows with their thatch rooms offer stunning garden and pool views. The main bedroom is downstairs and upstairs offers a room with twin beds. The Highlander Suites offer their own private enclosed patios where guests can relax and take in their surroundings.

Hobbit Cottage
The Hobbit Cottage is a self-catering unit which have three upstairs bedrooms, each with their own en-suite bathroom. The main room offers a king size bed, the second room consists of a queen and the last room has 2 single beds in the room. The downstairs area offers a lounge, dining room and a kitchen

Restaurant
The Highlander's in-house restaurant is called Chapter 1.  The Chapter 1 dining venue is open from the early morning up until late in the evenings. The restaurant offers country style cooking at its best. The mouth-watering meals which are on offer at Chapter 1 are all prepared from fresh organic products.  The restaurant serves breakfast, lunch, snacks, high tea and dinner for guests to enjoy in a magnificent setting.

Conferencing
The Highlander Hotel in Dullstroom offers a conference venue that can accommodate up to 60 delegates comfortably. The conference venue can be used for executive conferencing, board meetings, training, team building or events. This function room is situated separately away from the hotel to ensure the privacy of the delegates and the hotel guests. The food and beverage team go out of their way to meet the dietary requirements that the guest may require.
