Named after the Makonde Tribe from Tanzania and Mozambique - a matrilineal society who have become well known for their carvings and contemporary art.  The spacious 3 bedroomed thatch farmhouse offers one a sense of cozy African living in a well-manicured garden with views towards the lake.  The Farmhouse was redecorated in September 2007.  Only 13 km from Dullstroom.

  • 2 Bathrooms (1 bathroom en suite with bath & shower and a communal bathroom with bath).

  • A built- in fireplace dominates a large comfortable lounge with limited DSTV Bouquet and DVD. 
  • A separate dining room with 8-seater dining table leads off the kitchen which also has dining facilities for a further 6 guests.  
  • The kitchen is fully equipped with microwave, fridge/freezer, large gas stove/oven, washing machine and tumble dryer. 
  • A Weber braai and potjie facilities are available on the patio.


Fishing: Dams have been fixed and stocked. Keep one fish per rod.

Access:  There is 8km of gravel road. Note: This road can be bad! High rise vehicles ONLY.
