Heysbrook Country Lodge

Heysbrook Lodge is situated off the N4 close to Waterval Onder, this beautiful stone lodge offers the perfect group getaway destination. The property runs along some 7km of the Heysbrook River offering guests spectacular views across the mountains and valleys. The lodge consists of a central living area with a bar area (including a TV with DSTV for the sports fans) leading out onto an extensive deck overlooking the river. It has a large dining room, a cozy lounge with fireplace and a fully equipped kitchen leading out into an enclosed braai area. Large fireplaces are located throughout the lodge offering warmth on chilly evenings.

Accommodation Details:

The 10 bedrooms, each en suite with fireplaces in the bedrooms (and most in the bathrooms!) are generously spaced apart from the lodge and from other bedrooms. The closest bedroom is some 50 meters from the lodge and the furthest some 150 meters, along a meandering wooden boardwalk that takes you through the 300-year-old stone kraal ruins, around which the lodge was built. All bedrooms are large (approximately 50m²), have private views from the baths, outdoor showers. All bedrooms can accommodate two single or one King size bed.

CONFERENCING.
The sandstone conference room is built into the side of the riverbank overlooking several pools on the Heysbrook stream. Sliding glass doors prevent the alluring sound of running water from detracting from work related matters. Conference facilities are state of the art with facilities for a light projector, overhead projector, flip charts and videos. Surround sound and a big screen television are work-in-progress. The conference room is 12m by 8m and accommodates up to 25 delegates in horseshoe layout, 40 in classroom and 60 in cinema layout. This is immediately adjacent to the main lodge.

All 10 bedrooms have fireplaces as well as 3 fireplaces in the living area.

The Cottage (Tudor Cottage)

Tudor Cottage is a separate unit situated in the same valley just up the road from the lodge. Situated on the banks of a small stream that flows into the Heys brook, the cottage offers a uniquely exclusive getaway. Big skies, rolling vistas and solitude await you. Tudor Cottage is located 2 km off the N12 toll road, 250km from OR Tambo International airport. The cottage – aside for the lodge and the manager’s home – is the only dwelling on the estate.
The very comfortably appointed cottage has its own Lapa and braai area and plunge pool. If booked separately of the lodge, cottage guests leave the summer house and river pool area for the use of the lodge occupants

The cottage is fully furnished and will provide you with a wonderfully comfortable base for your stay.

The kitchen is fully equipped with all the necessary crockery, cutlery, glasses and appliances. The kitchen staff will be on hand to help. There is a wood burning fireplace in the lounge through to the bedroom. Reasonable wood usage for the duration of your stay is provided for in your tariff.

The cottage TV has a DSTV bouquet, including all sports channels

ACTIVITIES: Beautiful walks and hiking trails, the fishing available is fishing for yellow fish in the river across the road from Heysbrook.

There is a full day, 10-kilometer hike available that takes you along the edge of the escarpment and offers superb views of the valley, the Elands Waterfall and views of Heysbrook. 
Leigh, the Lodge manager, can organize one of the guides for guided walks on request, tours of the graveyards, clay pigeon shooting (please book prior to arrival), rock climbing tours and a variety of other options available in the area.
